About
About Tim Shea
Art has always been about connection — the moment a piece stops you in your tracks, makes you smile, or takes you straight back to a memory you didn't know you were holding onto. That's what drives the work behind Tim Shea.
Before picking up a brush, Tim spent 20 years working as a crane driver on the Melbourne waterfront — a world full of colour, characters, and stories. It's a place where you learn pretty quickly not to take life too seriously, and that philosophy runs through every piece of work Tim creates today.
Based in Australia, Tim Shea is a contemporary artist whose prints sit at the intersection of sport, pop culture, and fine art. From the raw energy of AFL legends to the timeless charm of Paddington Bear, Snoopy, Mario, and Bart Simpson, each piece is crafted to be bold, vibrant, and unmistakably alive.
The Work
Every print is produced as an archival giclée — a museum-quality process that captures the full depth of colour and detail in each original work. Printed at Brunswick Print Lab in Melbourne, the results speak for themselves: rich, luminous, built to last.
Select editions are strictly limited to just 50 prints, individually numbered and hand-embossed — once they're gone, they're gone. Others are available as open editions. Either way, every print is made with the same care and commitment to quality.
The Style
Playful. Expressive. Confident. Tim Shea's work doesn't take itself too seriously, but it takes the craft very seriously. Subjects are rendered with energy and personality — whether it's a footballer mid-kick or an iconic cartoon character reimagined through a fine art lens. The goal is always the same: to create something you want to live with.

Tim Shea born 1970,
Is a self-taught contemporary Artist. Born and breed in Melbourne, Australia. Growing up Tim's attraction to Art came through many things, including movie and theatre posters, rock album covers and advertising billboards, and especially the pop art scene.
"Growing up in the 70's, 80's and 90's were much simpler times, full of fun color, great movies and music and these are the things I try to capture in my art, by recreating animation and cartoon characters, along with portraits of icons throughout time with a point of difference and plenty of color that either brightens up someone's space, wall or day, or even to be a conversation starter in a bar or at an event."
After leaving school at the age of 15, Tim spent most of his working life on Melbourne's waterfront, which was full of color and colorful characters.
After being faced with ongoing health issues and not being able to work, he has turned his focus to creating art, firstly as a mental healing tool and now wants to share his story through his art.
"There is always a story behind what you see on the canvas. The people behind it, what makes them tick and their skill is sometimes just as or even more interesting than the art itself."
